About Members Credit Union
The original by-laws of Bergstrom Paper Credit Union were approved on July 17, 1934 . The goal of the credit union was to provide financial support to employees of Bergstrom Paper. In the beginning, business was conducted at the mill and the Board meetings were held in one of the director’s homes. The first annual meeting was held on January 12, 1935 at Eagle’s Hall in Neenah . The treasurer reported that the credit union had 112 members and about 60% of members with were present.
Over the years, Members United Credit Union has been through a name change, charter changes, and several address changes. However, one thing has remained constant, that being the mission of the credit union. Members United Credit Union is a member owned financial organization. Our goal is to provide the best possible financial services to meet member’s needs, while maintaining the credit union’s long term stability. We strive to provide to provide our members with the best possible service and services to help our members gain financial security.
Now, anyone living or working in Winnebago County, or a relative of a current member, may become a member of Members United Credit Union.

How to Join
Anyone living or working in Winnebago County or a relative of a current member is eligible to join.
Simply open a Share (Savings) Account with a minimum balance of $5.00. It is as easy as that to be a member and enjoy the benefits of being a member of Members United Credit Union. These benefits include higher rates on deposits and lower rates on loans. An additional benefit is that as a member you are an owner of the credit union and have the ability to directly participate in the governance of your credit union.
Each year the credit union membership elects individuals to serve on our volunteer Board of Directors. The Board of Directors makes decisions for the benefit of the entire membership.
